Aloha Oe

I've been missing Hawaii a whole lot lately. I miss the smell of flowers in the air. How on a walk you could pick a bouquet of an array of tropical flowers, it was fantastic. Also the people that owned the trees or bushes would happily pick the flowers with you and chat about life even if they didn't know your name. The people were probably the best part about Hawaii. There were two different kinds, the kama'ina or locals and the haoli's or tourists. The Kama'ina were really chill, they would say hi to random strangers and give a big hug to someone they had been chatting with for ten minutes. They really knew how to live, I mean their motto was hang loose for goodness sake. The Haoli's on the other hand were either taping everything around them, taking pictures with every stranger they meet with one arm around the stranger and the other in either the hang loose sign or the peace sign, and smiling and laughing like a good Hallmark commercial, or kind of tense. You know shoulders scrunched up a big frowny face and worried eyes they were also always in the most crowded places like Waikiki beach and Turtle Bay.
The food was another facet of the awesomeness. I, personally, miss the Shave Ice with snow caps, the kalua chicken you could buy at the beach, and the chicken long rice from the classic hawaiian food shops.
I believe that everyone should live in Hawaii for at least a month. It gives a person a new outlook on life, how you can take life by stride and just go with everything thrown in your path no matter how big that banana peel may be.

Love your adoring fan,
Madimoo
