Tah Dah!

hi...
Sorry about the ridiculous amount of time it has been since I last posted. There really isn't much of an excuse for it...
To finish off my long overdue New York posts of last summer *I mean really, how is it already October?*
The things I saw blew my mind, here is just a small list of a few things that still shine through my already rusty memory.

  • Walking to Serendipity from Rockafeller Center...ouch
  • Going nuts in the dorm room and singing and dancing for my audience of Julie.
  • Eating ice cream at 1 in the morning
  • Running in heels to get into Promises, Promises before it started.
  • Trying to have a picnic in the park and the rain coming down.
  • A lovely boat ride around in the Hudson
  • A lovely row boat ride around Central Park.
  • Coming home and collapsing in the blessed 66 degree air conditioning.
  • Racing to be the first with their key card out to get in the building.
  • waking up to a dead mouse.
  • spewing of sewage in Union Square
The things I ate should be a sin. Another list:
  • Crumbs cupcakes
  • Pinkberry Fro-yo
  • Vanessa's Dumplings' Jasmine bubble tea
  • Black hound dessert cakes
  • Serendipity delicacies
  • Juniors Cheesecake
  • Pizza, lots and lots of NY style Pizza
  • Nutella Pizza
  • Magnolia Bakery cake
  • French Roast coffee
  • Thai Me Up pineapple fried rice.
Thanks for keeping up with my bloggy even though I am a terrible blog mama.

Aloha Oe

I've been missing Hawaii a whole lot lately. I miss the smell of flowers in the air. How on a walk you could pick a bouquet of an array of tropical flowers, it was fantastic. Also the people that owned the trees or bushes would happily pick the flowers with you and chat about life even if they didn't know your name. The people were probably the best part about Hawaii. There were two different kinds, the kama'ina or locals and the haoli's or tourists. The Kama'ina were really chill, they would say hi to random strangers and give a big hug to someone they had been chatting with for ten minutes. They really knew how to live, I mean their motto was hang loose for goodness sake. The Haoli's on the other hand were either taping everything around them, taking pictures with every stranger they meet with one arm around the stranger and the other in either the hang loose sign or the peace sign, and smiling and laughing like a good Hallmark commercial, or kind of tense. You know shoulders scrunched up a big frowny face and worried eyes they were also always in the most crowded places like Waikiki beach and Turtle Bay.
The food was another facet of the awesomeness. I, personally, miss the Shave Ice with snow caps, the kalua chicken you could buy at the beach, and the chicken long rice from the classic hawaiian food shops.
I believe that everyone should live in Hawaii for at least a month. It gives a person a new outlook on life, how you can take life by stride and just go with everything thrown in your path no matter how big that banana peel may be.

Love your adoring fan,
